Wellington Fashion Week is over. A fantastic week, closing with two standout designers: Storm & World. Storm is a mix of Kate Moss rock chic and Alexander McQueen. For world, think Solange Knowles pant suits with Katy Perry quirkiness. The whole week ended with un unexpected couture show by World Couture with sky high wigs and head to toe sparkles.
Thank you to Pearson PR, and all the designers for the invites to the shows. What an amazing week.

WFW Day 3
Highlight? Jane Daniels. Although designed for an older age group, her jackets are incredibly beautiful. Tell your Mum! Jane Daniels
Day 3 was a mellow day, letting me spend time in the media room working on advertorials for Admire magazine. Maison Scotch showed, but sadly there weren’t many of their signature jeans shown. A fun day all round though, now I’m ready for weekend madness!
Below are some photos from Australian Fashion Week. This year many big names didn’t show. Who didn’t come? Zimmermann, Willow, Sass & Bide, and Josh Goot.
Why? Apparently AFW has turned into a public event rather than a commercial event, yielding almost no sales. Fair enough I guess, it’s tough times for designers, so need to choose what is best for their businesses. We don’t want to see more Aussie brands succumb to closures or buy outs like Willow, Alannah Hill, Lisa Ho and Kit Willow.

Day 2 was fantastic! I officially have a new favourite NZ brand – Ruby. Their offset brand, Liam, has a softer edge.
High Noon Tea’s intimate fashion salon was a cosy way to see the collection, really showcasing the stunning fabrics. Trelise Cooper’s show was full of shocking colours and bold embellishments. Love the studs and pops of neon.
Thank you to all the designers for the invites to their shows, and an amazing day all round!

Day 1 started with the moochi show and the opening party. For me, the highlight of the moochi show was the beautiful shoes.
Thank you for Pearson PR for a great start to the week.

It’s the weekend! Erin Wasson’s cool, relaxed vibe is the perfect weekend style inspiration. Exciting news, girl crush Lupita Nyong’o is the new face of Lancome. Loves it!

let it go
Marc Jacobs is rebranding! After leaving Louis Vuitton to spend more time on his namesake brand, Marc Jacobs is excited to revitalise his brand. Jacobs plans to reinvent the Marc jacobs ‘it’ bag, and stunning shoe collection he used to be known for. Now with a beauty range, the almost 50 year old designer knows no limits.
Publicly ditching the fash pack’s views on celebrity, Jacobs’ 2014 ad campaign features a tomboy-ish Miley Cyrus. Her inclusion caused quite a stir, and ended the brand’s alignment with a photographer who has shot Marc Jacobs’ ads for 15 years! Go Marc, stick to your guns!
